Friends of a Feather was established in 2022 in honor of Barbara DeLorenzo by her husband, Bob, and her four children Nicole, Tyler, Christa, and Matthew. Barb was a friend of everyone she crossed paths with in life, a light in every room she entered, and an amazing mother.

Barb was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 57, and battled cancer for 3 years. Through the 3 year cancer journey, she remained an amazing mother and friend to many, and never let a day pass without smiling, making people laugh, and showing her incredible selflessness. While the treatments were painful, stressful, and scary to go through, Barb’s family knows that the one thing that hurt her was seeing children battling alongside her.  Seeing not only her own, but others children happy, healthy, and successful was her dream.

In March of 2022, Barb lost her battle of 3 years and passed away from cancer. Friends of a Feather was created because of Barb’s admiration for children battling cancer. Barb’s family wants to provide comfort, smiles, entertainment, and a sense of empowerment to pediatric patients and their families the exact way that Barb did to each and every person she met.
